When I think of summer, one of the first things that comes to mind is the refreshing fruit that’s in season at this time of year. Which isn’t surprising I guess. After all they have so much going for them – they’re simply scrumptious, they’re fab in a summer cocktail, and they’re so brightly coloured that they make great party motifs too!
And with that in mind, I thought I’d turn some of my favourite fruit into invitations that you can download and use throughout the season for your summer entertaining. These colourful prints will certainly help to set the scene for a super fun pool party or picnic in the park so get that cardboard out and let’s get making!
Materials
- Summer fruit invitation printable
- White letter-sized card
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Bone folder
- Double-sided tape
- Pen
Step
Download and print the summer fruit invitation file onto letter-sized white card. Then cut out each of the pieces with a pair of scissors. There are two pieces for the watermelon invitation, two for the orange and three for the pineapple invite.

Find the pieces with white tabs (there should be one for each fruit). With a ruler and bone folder, score along the line that separates the tab from the rest of the print.

Fold the tabs along the lines you scored in Step 2.

For each of the tabbed pieces, flip them over so that the printed side is face-down and apply glue or double-sided tape to the tab section.
Step
Find the fruit pieces that have the ‘It’s summer, let’s party!’ text.
For each fruit invitation, place the piece with the white tab on top of the piece that has the text. Then fold the tab over the top so that the glue you applied in Step 4 sticks the two pieces together.
Once both pieces have been stuck together at the top, the piece without text should flip up to reveal the text underneath.
Step
Your orange and watermelon invitations will be finished at Step 5, but the pineapple invitation needs an extra step to attach the leaves.
Firstly apply glue or double-sided tape to the leaf piece below the dashed white line. Then fasten the leaves to the back of the pineapple so that the dashed line is flush with the top of the yellow section. And that’s it, your invitation is complete!
All that’s left to do is to fill in the date, time and location of your party, seal them in envelopes and pop them in the mail!
