I was at the airport the other day waiting for my bag to come out of the carousel and after what seemed like ages, I finally spied my little black suitcase. Just as I was going to grab it, someone else picked it up.
My first thought was a territorial ‘get your hands off my bag!’ (don’t worry, I didn’t say it out loud. And really, why I was being so protective of my dirty laundry is beyond me).
My second thought (after I’d hurriedly retrieved my bag) was a silent admission that my black wheeled case looked just like every other black wheeled case circling around that carousel.
One solution to this problem would be to buy myself a whole new set of brightly patterned ‘stand-out-from-the-crowd’ luggage. But since I can’t afford to go down that path, I figured the next best thing would be to make up some luggage tags that are bright, fun, and unique enough to distinguish my bag from all the others that might be doing the rounds at the airport.
If you often find yourself in the same situation when you go on a holiday, download the tags below and dress up your luggage pronto!
Materials
- Printable cheeky luggage tag file
- White letter-sized card
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Bone folder
- Glue or double-sided tape
- Hole punch
- Pen
- Ribbon or twine
Step
Print out the luggage tag file onto white letter-sized card and score down the middle of each tag with a ruler and bone folder.
Step
Cut out the tags with a pair of scissors.
Step
Fold each of the luggage tags down the middle so that the printed side faces outwards (you should be folding along the lines you scored in Step 1)
Step
Apply double-sided tape or glue to the inside of each of your luggage tags and stick the back to the front.
Step
Turn each of the tags over and write your personal details in the ‘name’, ‘phone’ and ’email’ fields.
Step
Using the little white circle as a guide (there’s one at the top of each tag), punch a hole in all of your luggage tags.
Step
Thread pieces of twine or ribbon through the tags and them to your bags!
