How to Throw a Chocolate and Champagne Open House

This is a holiday party that won’t cause you any stress. Skip all the hard stuff (multiple-course meals, etc.), and treat yo’ self and yo’ friends to the good stuff: champagne and chocolate. End the year with sweets and bubbles, and host a decadent open house to wrap up the season with style. Here’s how you can pull it off with ease.

Sips and Sweets

Creating a decorative, eye-catching table arrangement doesn’t have to be a lot of work. Keep it simple with a variety of sweet bites. Place an array of sweet treats (bon bons, mini tarts, and cupcakes) on staggered cake stands to add height and volume. A truffle (like the Lindt Gourmet Truffles below) perched atop each cupcake turns an everyday dessert into a special treat.

Fill mismatched, vintage cups with sparkling wine or champagne, and (if you’re brave enough) stack them into a sparkling pyramid.

Decor

Keep the decorations simple: a glittery banner and some silver confetti is enough to add a festive feel. Throw in some evergreen sprigs or simple flower arrangements in clear tumblers and you’re all set.

Place a few bowls of wrapped chocolates, like these Lindt LINDOR chocolates, on end tables so guests don’t have to break the conversation to get another treat.

Activities

Hopefully good company and conversation will be all you need, but sometimes a party needs a little guidance, so having a planned activity or two on hand is a smart idea. We love the party game ‘Famous as Botocelli’. Or, ask guests to bring an item for a gift exchange (something they love, like a favorite book or board game).
