I think Spring is definitely worth celebrating. After a long, cold winter the sun starts to shine and flowers begin to bloom. It’s as if life starts all over again. So to celebrate, I put together a little brunch.
I kept the decor simple with fresh flowers from Whole Foods, and I incorporated my vintage china and amber glassware. I used some old mason jars from the thrift store as a vase for the centerpieces.
You can build your own collection of mismatched china by visiting a local antique or thrift store. It adds great color and variety to your table. A lot of the vintage floral designs you find on older plates are also perfect for a spring palette.
For the beverages, I served sparkling apple pomegranate juice and mimosas. The apple pomegranate juice was a great alternative for those that aren’t huge fans of orange juice. To make, combine the following in a large pitcher:
- 4 cups of unfiltered apple juice
- 3 cups of pomegranate Juice
- 2 cups of club soda.
You’ve got to have sparkling beverage to celebrate!
The other items on the menu consisted of a large variety of fresh fruit, homemade baked donuts, and little ham biscuits. The thing I love about throwing parties is that I can add my own touch and taste to the menu and decor. Don’t miss this window of opportunity where the weather outside is perfect to host it outdoors.
Have fun!
