Years ago, my brother-in-law and I made a gingerbread house, Christmas-style. If memory serves, it turned out pretty cute, but I haven’t attempted to make another one since. However, having rounded up these haunted gingerbread (actually, most are chocolate) creations, a second attempt is in order, but for Halloween, of course. As I scoured the internets, I tried to find the best of the best, not necessarily ‘how-tos’, but—lucky for us—some are included.

Who doesn’t love a mansard roof? The maker of this spooky house certainly does.
This one from Ultimate Gingerbread is a veritable mansion.

Oh Sugar’s entry is a bit too ‘cute’ for my vampiric tastes, but that wrought iron is to die for. Its maker actually used a kit supplied by William Sonoma. No mention or link to the exact kit used, but . . .
this is another house created by a kit currently available through the retailer, AND it’s no-bake. This one is chocolate too!
Another kit, this one from Wilton, can create these next two designs:
Love this gorgeous home made by Britta Blvd. It actually has an open back like a play house, complete with furnishings.
This one from Smarty Had a Party comes complete with a recipe and template.
