Who says fabric is only for sewing? I, a self-proclaimed fabric hoarder, have lots that I don’t see myself cutting into any time soon since I am waiting for the perfect project for it. In the meantime, that beloved print can still make a statement in my home! Framing fabric, like the photo above from Cape 27, is a great way to use fabric as art. How about more easy ideas? If you have a great, large-scale print that you love, why not stick it to a door?
How About Orange shows you how. I love the boldness of this project.
For those smaller pieces, consider using embroidery hoops as frames.
This tutorial from the Purl Bee shows how to use the inexpensive hoops in any size to display those lovely little scraps.
How about adding it to your furniture?
Stick it on a headboard, like on Vintage Revivals, and make it a focal point in the room.
If you don’t have frames, you can always wrap it around something instead.
You can use foam core like Bella Dia, canvas, or I have seen people use shoe box lids. I, for one, don’t own enough shoes for that.
This project by All Things Heart and Home is actually fabric in a picture frame, but it resembles a window… so, stick it behind an old window! Way to re-purpose!
You don’t have to be a sewer to collect great pieces of fabric. There are lots of no-sew ways to display great prints that add the perfect touch of color and pattern to the home!
