I sometimes feel like my bedroom gets the most makeovers in our entire house, and it usually starts with a new headboard. But don’t let that old one go curbside; it has another calling in life.
A fresh coat of paint and some scrap pieces of wood helped Karla at It’s the Little Things repurpose a free curbside find into a useful bench on her porch (pictured above).
Poppies at Play used their old headboard to spruce up their indoor space. Just toss on a couple of pillows, and you’re set! You can find their rundown of the process on their blog.
Nia went the extra mile and cushioned her headboard bench when her antique bed frame didn’t accomodate modern mattresses (found via Design Sponge).

I’m thinking this project is perfect for entryways, porches, and other empty spaces in your home that need a little pick-me-up. Personally, I’m thinking this is a good spot to discuss with my kids why markers and walls aren’t good companions.
