Over the years, we’ve seen countless furniture makeovers done with nothing but paint and a lot of creativity. Today we give you the ones that top our all-time most memorable list…for good and, yes, some for ill too, based upon the collective conscious of our readers. Check them out and then chime in: are these painted furniture makeovers remembered for all the right reasons?
We’re going to start out with Beth & Nick’s buffet (kitchen cabinet base? Note the “sink hole” on top). Personally, I thought its aged appearance was a bit TOO aged, but others didn’t think so.

When Reeves realized wood stain wouldn’t hide the blemishes on this sweet little nightstand, she opted to paint it.

This MCM dresser definitely had finish issues before, but according to some of our commenters, its makeover was a travesty.

I’m all for roadside rescue, so this makeover impressed the pants off of me. Talk about trash…

This TV stand might not have been found in a trash heap, but I’ve seen plenty similar items at the end of driveways on garbage collection day. Based upon this makeover, the next time I see one, I just might swoop in for one of those roadside rescues.
Now the trashy TV stand is a beautiful and breezy bar cart:
Oh, yes, the “Incredible Wardrobe Makeover.” It kinda blows all those “the finish was is really bad shape so I had to paint it” arguments out of the water. But then again, not everyone is as patient with a makeover as Tami is, I’m guessing.
And before you say that Tami didn’t paint the wardrobe, look closely at the top. A lesson in painting restraint if ever there was one!
And, finally, Mandy’s chair makeover. It’s still hard to believe this turned out so well, considering it’s–you know–painted upholstery. But, hey, the proof is in the after picture.
