My flower arrangements always tend to look the same. Multiple stems of the same type of flower in a generic glass vase. Maybe some of you have the same habit? Well, in the hopes of solving that problem, I’ve collected some inspirational centerpiece ideas that would be perfect for the picnic table at your next family barbecue.
1. Wrap wire around the top of a vase and hang it from a wrought iron hook. [Photo: Tara Welch Photography]
2. Spray paint recycled cans and cluster them in the center of the table. Fill them with flowers of the same color. [Photo Via: Debbie Doo’s]
3. Here’s another way to recycle cans! Pick labels that match your flowers. [Photo: Hallmark]
4. Forgo the flowers altogether if you like, placing single hosta leaves in tall glass vases. [Photo: Revel]
5. Try placing only one or two buds in each small vase and corral them on a silver tray. [Photo: Peaches and Mint]
6. If you’re feeling extra crafty, place your blooms in bottles and hang them from the trees using thin rope. [Photo: Belle Maison]
7. A monochromatic bouquet is always beautiful. But be sure to follow their lead here with size – don’t be shy. Using a number of different varieties in a large vessel will create that “wow factor” that you’re looking for. [Photo: House Beautiful]
8. This is an interesting one… place a couple of blooms all the way down inside of a lidded glass jar and fill the bottom with an inch or two of water. [Photo: Marie Claire Maison]
9. Put your teacups to good use by filling them with flowers to create a low profile arrangement. Using a piece of floral foam would be the easiest way to achieve this effect… here’s a tutorial. [Photo: Moss + Isaac]
10. Old tin cans in a wire basket are a great way to give your table a rustic, vintage sort of feel. Be sure to choose flowers that complement this style – the ranunculus used here are perfect. [Photo: BHG]
