This summer is extra special because… I am celebrating my ten year anniversary with my husband! Seriously, it’s crazy how fast time flies. To honor such a joyous occasion, we have decided to travel to Europe. Specifically, Paris and London! We have always talked about traveling more together, but that’s always easier said then done when you have three young kids. And now, at last, we finally have a really good excuse to make that happen. I decided to create some graphic and modern wall art for our newly revamped kitchen to serve as a happy and positive reminder of our very special ten-day trip for our ten year anniversary and all for under $10! Do you sense a theme here?
Materials
- White cardstock (8.5 x 11 in)
- Monogram stickers
- Watercolor paint
- Paint brush
- Frame (according to cardstock)
Step
Begin by mixing a small amount of your watercolor paint with a bit of water. You want the paint to be vivid and not too saturated. You will simply be dipping your paint brush into the paint and flicking or dripping your paint across your blank canvas for a bit of texture and fun! Allow to dry completely.
Step
Once paint has dried, play around with the placement of your stickers until you feel satisfied with the design and layout. You may use a pencil and ruler for precise placement if you prefer, but I just used my eye.
Step
Remove stickers from the backing and carefully place accordingly.
Step
Place your art into the frame, hang and enjoy!
This art was so incredibly easy to create, I just had to make two – obviously. I especially love the small splashes of black paint combined with the simple and clean look of the typography. They sure stand out nicely against our scandi-inspired shiplap wall. And let’s be honest, there’s just something about handmade, personal art that really makes a room come together just right!
This is a great idea. Will try this one for sure!
I love it! What a great way to add some life to minimal walls. Thank you so much for the guide!
