Time is flying by, and Christmas is already less than a week away! If the holidays have you stressed and you’re looking for a way to relax, or if you want to fill your home with the rich aromas of winter, we have you covered! This quick recipe makes a warm batch of festive aromatherapy to fill your home – perfect for holiday parties or snuggling on the couch with a classic Christmas movie.
MATERIALS
- 1 large pot
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1 large orange, sliced
- 4 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 4 sticks of cinnamon, broken in half
- 5 whole cloves
- 1/2 tablespoon allspice berries
- 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- A stove or burner
- Water to fill the pot
Step
Combine all of the ingredients, except for the water, into a large pot. Fill the pot with water until it is three-quarters of the way full.
Step
Heat the mixture on the stove until it simmers. Stir, and enjoy the aroma of the holidays! Keep the mixture simmering to continue enjoying the potpourri.
This concoction smells like all the best parts of holiday baking – the freshness of citrus, the earthiness of cinnamon, and the spiciness of cloves.
The aroma lasts a surprisingly long time too, well after you take it off the burner. NOTE: Don’t eat this recipe! Even though it smells good enough to taste, it is for your nose only!
