“Holiday with Matthew Mead” is a “book-azine” offering inspiration and DIY/how-to projects for the Christmas holiday season. It’ll be available in early November via online orders only, and in limited quantities (click here to purchase it).
Here is today’s project:
Holiday Charm Hanger
This modern take on a shadow box creates a yuletide memory display of mini ornaments and holiday ephemera. We started with a scarf holder from IKEA but you could also recycle the plastic holders from a six-pack of soft drinks.
You will need:
- scarf organizer
- mini holiday ornaments
- stamped paper price tags
- paper pinwheels
- vintage jewelry
- holiday ephemera
Tools:
- hammer
- a nail
- double-stick tape
- ornament hook
- string
- Zots
Hang your holder on the wall with a nail (items can become heavy). You can use ornament hooks, double stick tape and string to tie or adhere your decorations to the holder. Vintage jewelry can be pinned on directly while items without pins can be held in place with oversized zots.
