Generally, grandfather clocks are not topics of conversation in the Curbly neighborhood. However, because we all enjoy a makeover, here are two that might make you consider how a staple in the traditional 1970’s home could work with your design aesthetic. Or not.
Heather found this grandfather clock on Craigslist for a measly 40 bucks.
After staining, painting, spray-painting (the pendulum), and sanding, this is what it looks like now:
Chelsea considered two colors when re-doing a plastic clock she found for $5. Hot pink or red. Which did she choose?
Red! Hard to believe it’s plastic, no? She used a high gloss red paint and then finished with a dark wax to give its new life.
These aree fabulous! I’m still trying to wrap my head around a plastic grandfather clock.
