Lego Does Frank Lloyd Wright
By lilybeeLego's architecture series is perfect for those of us who had trouble giving up the blocks as kids. The collection now includes the Guggenheim in all it's crazy-shaped glory (it looks particularly sci-fi in Lego).

Falling Water is also in the range, (though not available yet) and it has me cooing like a lovestruck pigeon (it's like a perfect storm of awesome » READ MORE

I just started a little photo show & tell blog, Piewacket, to showcase my passions. Including decorating of course!

By honeywestIf you have not heard of the Kindle and you love to read, get thee too Amazon pronto. They launched the K2 last week and it is amazing I also became obsessed with finding the perfect case for it. Of course, it must be gorgeous and the boring backpack-ish looking stuff, I was finding, was not doing it. Then I found Borsa Bella on etsy! Gorgeous stuff! She will customize it and these will also work for some mini laptops (just check the size) a » READ MORE

very detailed instructions and even a video over at I Make Projects

Solar Power Bags - On Sale!
By lilybeeNice bag = good thing. Nice bag that will recharge your phone or I-poodle = awesome awesome thing. Nice bag that will recharge your stuff for 40% off. Be still my heart.
Each Noon Solar bag has a
paper thin, flexible solar panel on the outside. The solar panel
charges a battery
pack inside the bag to supply power for your cell phone or gadget.
Which is just cool, it doesn't hurt that they're also nice looking and
made of sustainable, decomposable materials.

I particularly like the 'Sawyer' style (above) a chunky guy-bag who's looks would improve with age and a beating. It would make great Valentine's gift fo » READ MORE
Latte Art, Making Coffee Prettier
By lilybeeI am such a sucker for a swirly design gracing my coffee. Hearts, bunnies, feathers or apples make a good Colombian taste better somehow. Here's how to make your own impressive foamy creations.
You can also find detailed written instructions on steaming milk and making Latte Art here.

Ice Hotels... Cool
By lilybeeHave a peek at the pretty that is the ICEHOTEL in Sweden. Different every year, it's built from ice taken from the nearby river and from snice (Snow. Ice. SNICE!) sprayed on huge metal forms. Once the basic shape is in place a BUNCH of different designers, artists and clever folks are shipped in from around the world to make each room unique. And, you know, mind-blowingly beautiful.
Here are a few of the highlights of this winter's Hotel.

Push Pin Wall Art
By lilybeeA few packs of push pins, a pin board, a dash of inspiration (and possibly a little too much time on your hands at work) And Voila! Gloriously geeky wall art!

It's Mario. and push pins. and genius. Golf claps and whoop whoops to you, clever chaps at the Student Computing Center at the University of the Fraser Valley.
Personally I just don't think I'd have the pushpin-application chops to do this freehand like these guys, but maybe some square lined paper would keep things from going wonky.
Have a peek at the close ups, they really are pretty awe-inspiringly marvelous

By lilybeeYour mum is nearly always right. Remember when she told you not to
play with fire? She had a good point, but she'd obviously never seen
these.
Blok Candles by Hyock Kwon, soon to be available at emporium-of-hip Charles & Marie. Simple effective awesome.
You mum was right however about running with scissors and waving pointy sticks, you really could take someone's eye out with that thing
Specimens O' Gross
By lilybee
Creepy aren't they? To make your very own genuinely unnerving jars o' ick you'll need
- a good (gross) imagination. According to their creator "the most important thing is to think of a story behind each creation, once you have a concept in mind the jar will pretty much make itself".
- jars or bottles
- Plastic skeletons, enormous plastic spiders, expandable foam toys. Use your imagination, pretty much anything will look yuckier when it i » READ MORE
The Light Card
By DIY MavenAbout the size of a credit card, powered by a small cell, this glowing light's only function might be its ability to produce fabulousness. Yanko Design suggests using Hyun Jin Yoon & Eun Hak Lee's creation the next time you have a bright idea--you know, hold it over your head and bing! A metaphoric visual reenactment of inspiration. Or something like that.

NES Controller Coffee Table
By lilybeeNES. Super NES. Warm gooey Nostalgia.
I showed my sweetie Chrisjob's post on the Nintoaster and he appears to be in love. It also reminded him of something else. THIS:

Now I am in love too. It combines a few of my favorite themes and things; old school consoles, coffee, storage (what?), and DIY. If you put a wienerdog and a pygmy goat playing cards next to it and shifted the whole thing to Bermuda... well, that's what heaven looks like i » READ MORE

Folding chair is less than an inch thick
By Doug Aamoth
Now THAT's a folding chair. The 2F chair from Finnish designer Hannu Kahonen folds to 25 mm flat, which is less than one inch. Better yet, one side of the chair is black and the other side is white, so you can change up the colors to suit your mood.
The entire thing is apparently made from birch veneer plywood, so it's probably not all that expensive. No word on whether these will be produced and sold to the public, though. You could probably » READ MORE
Because waiting for the bus should be fun
By Doug Aamoth
Wacky Archives has some photos of seven pretty cool-looking bus stops. I'm not exactly sure where these are each located, but if we had a hollowed-out watermelon bus stop near my house, I'd probably ride the bus all the time.
There's also a pretty incredible giant-snake-meets-roller-coaster bus stop and a few very comfortable looking stops as well.
I've dropped some of the coolest ones in this post but you can see more here at Wacky Archives.
Wall Art/Furniture...DIYable???
By DIY Maven
Designer John Nouanesing’s Fix It On The Wall Furniture is a piece of art and, when you need it, a coffee table and four cushions, and I’m thinking it’s DIYable. Picture it, you fabricate your cushions, table top and legs, and then you trace their images on a piece of plywood. (Maybe even sandwich two together to get some depth.) You cut out their shapes with a jigsaw and then apply that to another piece of plywood. A couple coats of paint and » READ MORE
The Double Vision Clock
By DIY Maven
For some, this clock might be too much like a visit to the eye doctor’s office; for others, it’s just plain cool! Using red and green transparent disks, the viewer is able to read both the hour an minutes at the same place on the clock’s face. It would certainly make watching the clock at work more interesting. From Perpetual Kid, the 16" in diameter timepiece will set you back about 40 dollars.
