Garden Inspired Apartment

By berryberr Master-bedroom-1

In designing a compact space like this, creating a feeling of space and refinement is of utmost importance. Drawing inspiration from the female owner's love for florals, we took our cues from elements found in a garden and infused the space with a subtle sense of tamed wilderness - floral prints, stones, raw wood, greenery etc. Read more »MORE

Cultured Ikea?

By ZenGirl Yogawithevans_medium

Alright, Curbliers...here's a stumper for you!  How do you add cultured flair to an Ikea space? Let me explain...To suit my family's "financial plan" for the next year, we've decided to take a dramatic redirect and move into an efficiency apartment for ONLY $300/month!!!  We'll be saving an unbelievable amount of money, but this is the hard part...it will be myself, my husband, and our 3 girls all living in a box!  It will be an uncomfortable year, but the end result is what makes it worth it.  By 2010, the savings will put us in what we've always wanted,... »MORE

Hobbit Homes for Sale. Cheap!

By DIY Maven Shire-tolkien-hobbit-lotr

Ron Meyers might be a bigger Tolkien fan that Peter Jackson. Mr. Meyers built his own Shire in the form of a housing development and not in New Zealand but Bend, Oregon. Only one home, complete with its own hobbit hole, has been sold in the Shire-themed neighborhood--for $650,000 and to one of the designers of the project--since the community broke ground in 2006. Now facing default, Mr. Meyers expects the bank to whom ownership has reverted will discount heavily. A hobbit house of your very own for cheap? Precious. Via. »MORE

Wee Baby Stuff is a community dedicated to helping new and expecting parents figure out what to buy, and where to get it. Turn a Cereal Box into a Gift Box

By Doug Aamoth Fbczynsfjmbzis2

This isn't the first time that people have made cereal boxes into gift boxes (see this Curbly post for more ideas) but this method looks pretty cool in that, when all is said and done, you can't really tell that it was a cereal box to begin with. You'll need a hot glue gun, scissors, and a cereal box. That's about it, so get eating -- that box isn't going to empty itself! LINK:  Gift Box from a Cereal Box [Instructables.com]   »MORE
