Reupholstering Chair Cushions???
By kristinireneHere in Sunny Florida, a typical garage sale will consist of junk, junk, junk, junk and then miraculously, a vintage 70's heavy rattan chair for $5! I lucked upon a divorce sai last week and this guy sold me a swivel base rattan chair with cushions for yes, $5. However, the back and seat cushions are a crime against humanity. Painting over a cheap wood nightstand?
By kristinirene I wanna paint over a cheap pine, stained nightstand I bought junk saling today with a "high gloss enamel" to achieve a 1950's "Oriental" look. Can someone reccommend a brand (Lowe's stock preferred) to do this with? Can we just paint over the old stuff? Thanks--never done this before!Upholstery Cleaners?
By kristinirene We have a Todd Oldham for LazBoy couch in a soft/"cotton" or synthetic cotton-y tweed. Now that we are about to move it, I see how dingy the tops of the cushions are. Supposedly this fabric is stain-resistant, but it needs sprucing up. Any ideas for good fabric cleaners?Stripping old heavy bamboo screen?
By kristinireneI have a nice super heavy 40's bamboo screen that needs stripping (someone painted it white and it is all chipping). What should I use to strip it? Once it is stripped, what if anything should I do then? I apologize for maybe what might be obvious questions but I am just beginning to teach myself what I always paid others to do!

Best Way to Divide Living Space that is Basically One Long Rectangle???
By kristinireneMy husband and I are downsizing from a huge 1200 sq ft Portland OR flat to a bizarre 500 sq ft Florida apartment near Downtown St. Petersburg, FL. Both have their own charms but rather than having very defined living spaces to basically one very long room of gorgeous hardwood floor (This is just guessing, but it is barely 7' across and maybe 15-18' long!) to have our dining/hanging/listening area in!
