Hey ericson! I played around with the crackle finishing just as promised, and I posted a how-to today. For the crackle medium, I used Elmers Glue. It worked great!

The way to get a crackle finish, is to use something called a 'crackle medium'. There are many crackle mediums on the market; I haven't heard of one being better than the other. Perhaps you could post that question on Curbly. As far as a how-to, here is a link that explains the process. Crackling can be a bit tricky. I would suggest you practice the technique on a similar material before you start your big project(s). As far as a homemade crackle medium, that is a very good question! I have a theory as to what crackle medium really is--I will do some experiments and let you know how they turn out! Good luck!

hello there friend. i need help.ive been looking for this kind of paint that has this cracking effect when it dries up whn applied on wood.its hard to find same kind of paint here in my location.or do you have any idea on what can i add or mix to a paint to have that crackig effect? if so...it will really be a great help for me friend.
