An Invisible Shelf for Visible Books

By DIY Maven

Stickelbook’s invisible bookshelf consists of an extruded aluminum bracket onto which is attached a polypropylene strip of teeth. The teeth grip the pages and covers of paperback books, giving the allusion that the books are self-supporting. Cool, huh? The Sticklebook, which is 50cm long and holds approximately 13 average-sized paperbacks, is available through the manufacturer’s website for a rather reasonable $28.70.

Hey!! This is so neat!! We actually just bought three large bookcases from Target for $22 each (our lucky, really, because we were at Target to BUY those shelves, and there they were, on sale that very day!!!), and I rather like the look of them, plus they take care of my blank wall problem (heh). However, I would definitely look into these for my next round of book storage. Too bad it's only paperbacks; I'd still have to find a place to store my hardcovers. I wonder, would the teeth rip or fold the pages at all? I guess I'd have to see this in person, although I would probably still buy it for the novelty factor. I think a whole wall of these shelves, with books seemingly floating, would be really cool. But I blab.

This is a great invention! I'd love one in my room. You never have to search for a matching bedroom set!

haha wow, that looks so unstable. i would love to see this in person, if it really works that well, i'd be amazed (and likely to spend $28.70 on my own).
