Beyond Carbon Neutral: Plant-able Mail!
By DIY Maven
Some car makers seem to get it; some don’t. Honda is trying to be one of the former, and to prove themselves, they have sent customers of their lawn and garden products letters that have been printed on papers that contain flower seeds. The letter encourages the reader to plant the letter ‘to help neutralize the carbon in the atmosphere.’ Not only were both the envelop and paper made completely of recycled products, they were acid free and the ink they used was green-friendly as well. contained within the letter grow into flower and both the envelop and the paper were 100% recycled, acid-free and environmentally-friendly. U.S. car makers, are you reading this? Via LivePaths.

That was SUCH a good idea! And romantic too ;)

My husband and I were going to print our wedding invitations on "seeded" paper (that would grow into wildflowers when planted.) Unfortunately, the cost of it was utterly off the wall.
Instead, I found a company that does shaped cut-outs for promotional confetti, and asked them to do a few hundred leaf-shaped cut-outs of seed paper (our theme was "autumn", so the leaves made sense.) They did, and I think it cost us about $25 or $30.
When we sent out our thank-you notes, we included a little slip of paper about "watching our love grow", and added a handful of seed-paper leaves to each envelope. I'm getting ready to plant the remainder this spring, now that we have a house. :>
