By Chrisjob Sensafloor

Floor designers Sensacell installed a 250 sq. foot interactive LED floor from 1000 of their LED panels at the 2008 World Expo in Spain. Over time, the floors begin to remember patterns and trails of steps, which will either highlight how often we go to the refridgerator, or remind us of our ecological footprint. One or the other. How To: Create Your Own Word Cloud.

How To: Dye Pasta For Crafting.

By Chrisjob Dyed%20pasta

First, there was just plain old semolina yellow. Then, they got fancy (tacky?) and developed the tri-color by using spinach and tomato products to tint you rotini. Now, embrace the rainbow by coloring your pasta ANY shade you may choose with vibrant, punchy results. This is a great medium for kids, or for some tongue-in-cheek nostalgia...perhaps some macaroni macrame? Materials food colouring dried pasta of any shape rubbing alcohol ziploc bags Just fill the bags with the pasta, and cover with the rubbing alcohol. Mix in the food coloring, and dye away... Take A Tour of Jennifer Perkins' Studio.

By Chrisjob 2656021664_fe298a8358

So, Jennifer Perkins is my I-don't-care-what-you-make-I-will-always-love-you craft crush. I'll never copy any of her designs, make any of the projects featured on Craft Lab, and don't have much use for Naughty Secretary Club jewelry. But I don't care. I love her...especially when she says 'loverly.' Modish interviewed Jennifer about her own handmade space, her jewelry studio in Austin, TX. All the multidrawer organizers make it clear this girl's a pro, but one can help but find it inspirational. PS- She has a new book out. »MORE

How to Extend the Life of Fresh Cut Flowers.

By Chrisjob Pink-gerber-daisies-picture-b3832pw

Know that little packet of additives that come with arranged flower bouquets? Apparently, it's just a little sugar, chlorine, and some citric acid. So, create your own DIY solution that you can continue to use throughout multiple water changes. "Mix 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon bleach, and 2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice in a quart of warm water." That's it. The bleach sounds scary to me too, but I'm imagining the chlorine keeps out the gunk, just like in a swimming pool. Check out the photo for a visual comparison:   Cottage Living, via Lifehacker.
